The Wisner 4x10 Technical Field Camera
weighs only 7.5 lbs.
It is a dream camera for expert enthusiasts.
4x10 is such a practical panorama format: u take some 8x10 film, u cut it in half. You slip it into your 4x10 Mido II holders
The Wisner 4x10 Technical Field Camera is surpisingly light weight.
Not including the strap, dimensions are 11 5/8" x 5" x 8". The 4x10 is equipped with a user interchangeable bellows.
Essentially the 4x10 is a 4x5 Technical Field with a 4x10" back and cherry red leather bellows attached. It uses 4" lensboards. The metal fittings are brass. The wood is mahogany.
Wisner also offered a 4x10 Expedition version made of black american cherry and aircraft aluminum.

This is the typical baseplate of a Wisner camera. Please note the excellent joinery. If this were an Ebony camera
it would be held together with metal corners. The base of the Ebony camera would be one large metal plate with about 20 screws. |

Note the fine cabinetry ie finger joints. |

This is a 410 to 5x7 reduction back. Useful for horizontal work or you could flip the canera on it's side.

To complete the package you would need some 4x10 film holders. One source would have been Lisco.

A better option might be Mido II holders with clamshell.
These 7 holders with the clamshell adapter weigh 1.5k (3.3 lbs). When stacked they measure only 5.7cm (2.25").
