Wisner 4x5s Traditional Review
Although the Wisner 4x5 Traditional is the base model offered by Wisner it has enough features and movements to satisfy the needs of all but
the most demanding photographers. Construction is mohogany with brass metal components. Rigidity exceeds that of a Deardorff V45 and is comparable to that of a Technica or Sinar F1.
The front standard on the Traditional features rise, fall, lens axis tilt, base axis tilt and swing. The rear standard offers swing and has base axis forward and backward tilt.
The 20" (500mm)
bellows is extremely durable. It is made of burgundy kid leather lined with China silk. It is water repellant. The standard bellows is capable of focusing a 90 mm lens. If movements are required the
user interchangable wide angle bellows (also kid leather) is recommended. Once installed there is no limit to the width of focal length you can use.
The ability to interchange bellows is what sets
Wisner cameras apart from most other field cameras. Because of this ability any wide angle lens available can be used. Furthermore, the Traditional line of cameras are multi format. You can acquire format
changing kits to 4x10, 6x10 and 5x7 thus saving the cost of a second camera.
All Wisner cameras are backed by a Lifetime Warranty. |
